Show&Tell - For Eg: At marketing and F2F events are you giving handouts and trinkets and calling yourself sustainable - well in my mind that is just greenwashing. On the other hand think about an experience, “Everytime you visit our booth, we will plant a tree” eventually offsetting the carbon footprint that was needed to lets say build the booth, or getting company professionals to fly in to the event. The experience is not only memorable but 100% different from other vendors enticing customers to keep visiting your booth for more conversations because they feel they are doing good for the planet.

But to get there, Marketing needs to get into the culture of measuring carbon footprint of their activities. Once we do that, I am sure there are many intelligent marketers with wonderful ideas to reduce our carbon impact.
